Bayerische Motoren Werke AG aka Bavarian Motor Works (BMW) is a German automobile manufacturer that was founded in 1917. As the aircraft manufacturing company Rapp Motorenwerke restructured, BMW was established as a business entity which quit aircraft manufacture after the end of World War I. The company started manufacturing motorcycles in 1923, and automobile manufacture soon followed suit in 1928-29. BMW's first car to hit the roads was the Dixi, based on the Austin 7. And since then the German automobile manufacturer went on to grow in such magnanimous proportions that it was ranked the #1 most reputable company in the world by Forbes.com. And that comes after the fact that BMW faced a lot of setbacks, mainly financial, which almost drove them to liquidity. After fighting through the troubles, BMW cars emerged to be the pioneer of ground-breaking technology in the premium car segment and the same stands true for BMW cars in India.
